Eugenia was a wonderful nanny to our daughter (who recently turned two). She started with us when our
daughter was 4 months old and also watched another family's little boy who was a month younger. We interviewed a few nannies before meeting Eugenia and she beat them out with her warmth and professionalism. As new parents, we were anxious about leaving our child in the care with a stranger, but we felt very comfortable with Eugenia. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions.

Eugenia Ortega has served as a full-time nanny for my son for over the last year and a half. She has taken care of our son since he was 4 months old as part of a share care that began in September 2011. Eugenia worked 45-50 hours per week and she was very understanding, even when having to work overtime on short notice. I highly recommend her for future employment. She was very dependable and I feel blessed to have Eugenia as a part of my son’s life. Eugenia is organized, caring, and very engaged. She took an interest in my son’s developmental milestones, taught him new things, and encouraged him in his accomplishments. It’s easy to see she loves her job and taking care of children; most importantly our son is always excited to see her and loves her too!
She’s active and energetic, usually going to the park daily, and likes to get the kids out and about for activities and stimulation. Eugenia was always very patient and kind with my son. It shows that she has many years of experience with babies and toddlers with the way she handles all situations with ease. I believe Eugenia would be a fantastic nanny to any family. She will be greatly missed!

Eugenia worked for my family for just over a year; she came highly-recommended through our neighborhood parents’ association as a potential caregiver for our (then-two years old) daughter Caroline. As Caroline is an only child, we had hoped to enter into a share-care
arrangement with another family and were pleased to find out that Eugenia was also caring for a similarly-aged child (and had been caring for the same girl since shortly after birth).

We could not have been happier. Under Eugenia’s care and guidance, Caroline has thrived. There is no better indicator of this than how well—and how quickly Caroline managed the multiple transitions thrust upon her over a short period of time, from our move into a new house, to my taking a full-time job that soon had me working long hours (for close to 9 months immediately prior to my returning to work, I had been Caroline’s primary caregiver). To put it succinctly—there were never any issues.

Eugenia managed the “typical” caregiver duties (diaper changes, meal preparations, and happily for us, assistance with potty training) with ease, grace, and above all, professionalism. I truly appreciated that Eugenia kept abreast of the latest neighborhood activities geared towards young children and that Caroline’s day was always chock-full of fun things to do. Towards the end of Eugenia’s time with us, she took extra care to include educational exercises for the girls in preparation for their transition to pre-school.

In addition to the usual duties, there are the intangibles. Eugenia is extremely warm and very patient (as evidenced by how well she managed two rambunctious Pre-schoolers with different temperaments). That Eugenia was missed when Caroline went to pre-school is a terrible understatement--but it will have to do. Because we remain in touch, I take comfort in knowing that other families have had the chance to learn just how special Eugenia is.

Eugenia is a wonderful nanny. She cared for our daughter as part of a nanny share for nearly a year, starting when Parker was five months old. My husband and I made the decision to move out of the city, which unfortunately meant we could no longer have Eugenia watch Parker! During my search for a nanny, I used many resources including the local Potrero parents group. This is how I connected with Eugenia. Hiring a nanny for the first time can be very nerve-racking, not only because you will be leaving your child with someone you don’t know well, but also considering the influence this person will have in the rearing of your child. You need to find someone who is warm, caring, and nurturing. But, just as importantly, that person needs to be professional, a great communicator, have good judgment, and be someone you respect. I was lucky enough to find all of that with Eugenia. Not only was Parker well cared for by someone she adored, but as a parent, I got the right kind of support and structure from Eugenia. She is a consummate professional, which means your child is in the best hands, getting lots of love - and as a parent, you get the support and communication that makes your life run smoothly.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Eugenia.

Eugenia was our fantastic nanny for 7.5 years, she came to us when my oldest daughter was just 3 months and have in the years since babysat countless neighborhood kids as well as look after my youngest daughter. Eugenia quickly became part of our family, always looking out for my girls and their best interest. First and foremost, Eugenia brought routine to our lives and got the kids on a schedule. Once the baseline was settle, she always made sure the kids got plenty of adventure and outdoor time. They would always be on adventures around the neighborhood or the city. Eugenia also made sure my kids had play dates and interacted with other kids to help develop those important social skills. A few bullet points about Eugenia:
-She is a Peruvian native who's taught my girls beautiful Spanish.
-She also speaks perfect English which is key since I speak absolutely zero Spanish. She's kind, fun, loving, and patient. Without her, neither of my perfect girls would ever have been sleep-trained.
-Or potty trained for that matter.
-She is a safe driver.
-My girls love her and are always excited to see her.
-And I love her - and as a working mother - she has done everything to just help make my life work!

Eugenia was our amazing nanny who cared for my son. Eugenia attended to him with limitless patience, love, and energy. She truly loved my son, she still loves him! We moved to another state, but she still sends him messages and asks about him often! She seems to love all children. While Eugenia was working for us, I worked out of my home office, which allowed me the opportunity to be nearby. All-day, I'd hear laughter from my son and Eugenia. Even though he was a colicky baby and often-grumpy little boy, she would play with him and love him and care for him as her own. Anytime I poked my head in on them, they'd be engaged in some project, be it watercolors, an elaborate train track, or a masterpiece. At the park, while other nannies sat together chatting or checking their phones, she climbed on the monkey bars, made castles in the sandbox, and chased him in the grass (several parents went out of their way to tell me about this, as the park was frequented by a host of nannies as well as stay-at-home moms). My son giggled and shrieked in delight when Eugenia knocked on the door in the morning. She enhanced the life of my son, she was his friend, she didn't just fill in for me while I was working. In her years with our family, she never called in sick and was always on time. She was extraordinarily flexible with our often crazy schedules. In short, she is amazing and we'll always be grateful for the care she provided our son.

We feel so fortunate to have found Eugenia's daycare. She has been so wonderful with our daughter who started there when she was 5 months old and is now 2 years old. Eugenia treats her as her own child and shows her so much love. Our daughter is always excited when we walk up the stairs and I can tell she is really happy to be there. It is such a good feeling as a parent knowing your child is happy and well taken care of. The space is very clean and tidy and there are separate spaces for play and naps, as well as a large fenced yard. She sanitizes all toys and spaces daily and is very good with Covid-19 precautions. She feeds the kids nutritious snacks and home-cooked meals which our daughter loves. Spanish is spoken at the daycare so kids have the benefit of exposure to the language and Eugenia speaks English as well. We appreciate that she communicates any concerns with us in a timely manner and texting and emailing are easy with her. It is obvious that Eugenia is passionate about caring for babies and children and helping them learn and grow. She has been such an important person in our lives and we are so grateful for her. You will be too!

We were extremely fortunate to have had MHP's owner (Eugenia) care for our oldest child (now 4.5 years old) for two years as part of a nanny share agreement prior to her opening her wonderful in-home daycare. Eugenia is incredibly caring, capable, flexible, reliable/dependable, and does a great job of communicating with both the kids and the parents. She was a tremendous resource for my wife and I, as first-time parents, and continues to be a valued partner as we strive to surround our youngest child with a healthy, loving, and safe environment. It's also great to know that our daughter is learning Spanish and eating healthy and delicious meals and snacks when she's not at home. It's clear to us that she really enjoys her time at MHP!
